Yes, you heard that right! The Nintendo 64 classic’s GoldenEye 007’s remake has been leaked online and what makes this even more astonishing is its compatibility with PCs. An emulator can be used to play this game on a PC. To this date, the GoldenEye 007 has never been played on any other platform except the Nintendo 64 or the emulator. With the James Bond character involvement right, many other games by different gaming organizations have been released with James Bond character. Still, none has been as successful as the 007 or even come close to beat its popularity.
The Rare’s (gaming company owned by Microsoft) GoldenEye 007 was a classic shooter game that included a multiplayer option enabling players and friends from different PCs to fight in the game’s competitive modes. But the shocking news here is; the canceled remake that was supposed to surface in 2008 on Xbox 360 was leaked in a stream updated by a streamer on YouTube whose account goes by the name Graslu00 on the 29th of January 2021.

Although there have been previous appearances of flakes from this game since the declaration of its launch in 2008, yet no trailer or spoofs were officially released. Microsoft never launched this game due to multiple stakeholders’ and conflicts’ involvement in this project, which is a substantial reason to be believed. The Bond license owners could not find common ground on the agreements as the capital required was on the rise, making it unviable for launch. All factors combined resulted in this game’s complete dismemberment even though most challenges contributing to the game were already completed.
Talking about the game, it offers a spectacular option that would enable the user to switch the graphics of the game from HD to the original visuals that the Nintendo 64 Classic offered. A significant improvement has been made in the graphics consisting of the character’s face, which is more realistic. The footage that showed the two-hour-long gameplay has proved that anyone with the ROM file-sharing sites and an Xbox 360 emulator could enjoy the game. The remake consists of single-player and local multiplayer options, which help the user explore even more.
Many remakes have been released to make them as blockbuster as the GoldenEye 007. Still, the closest ever to be a hit has been the GoldenEye 25, which attempted to restructure its campaign similar to the 007. With the advantage of bond rights between 2006 and 2013, Activision had tried the same on the console Wii in 2010. From Wii, it was ported to Xbox 360 and PS3 the next year. The game flourished, to be precise, but wasn’t a superhit as expected by Activision. Many more attempts, such as the Perfect Dark by Rare, were released on Xbox Live back in 2010. The game award 2020 also bought the confirmation of a better version of the Perfect dark being released soon. Except for the official tries, there have been fan-based trials, too, for building a remake, but none turned out to be successful.
